In Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, summer is ruled by the fire element—symbolizing passion, power, truth, expansion, and heart energy.
But fire isn’t known to be gentle. It burns through illusion. It demands honesty. It clears out what no longer serves, so new life can grow. It can be a painful rebirth from the ashes of what is no longer. If you’re feeling burnt out, it is not because you’re broken. It is because there is inside of you that is ready to change—and you’re resisting the fire. You are holding on.

1. Get Honest: What’s Draining You?
Write a “Fire List.”
What are you doing that feels heavy, forced, exhausting, misaligned?
What are you tolerating that you know deep down you’ve outgrown?
Let this be raw and real. You don’t have to fix it all today. Naming it is the first step.
2. Feel to Heal: Move the Energy
Burnout often comes from suppressed emotions. Let them move through you.
Shake. Dance. Twerk. Punch a pillow. Cry.
Do 3 minutes of breath of fire (short, sharp inhales + exhales through the nose).
Light a candle and journal without censoring for 5 minutes.
Your body is your ally in this. Fire needs movement.
3. Take 1 Brave Action Toward the Life You Want
Ask yourself: What would the version of me who feels free and on fire do next?
Book the retreat.
Apply for the opportunity.
Raise your prices.
End the thing that’s draining you
Aligned action is sacred fire. It tells the universe you’re ready to receive something new.
Summer Fire Ritual: Burn It to Bless It
What you need:
A candle
A small bowl or fire-safe container
Paper + pen
A grounding object (like a crystal, a leaf, or your favorite piece of jewelry)
Ritual:
Set the space. Light the candle. Sit quietly with your grounding object in hand.
Write down everything you’re ready to release. Burnout, fear, imposter syndrome, toxic cycles—whatever no longer serves.
One by one, read them out loud and burn the papers safely. As each one turns to ash, say, “I release this. I reclaim my fire.”
Place your hand on your heart and whisper what you’re calling in instead. Love. Joy. Rest. Wealth. Power. Whatever your soul craves. Let the smoke rise as a prayer.
